Preparation/Operation
CAUTION: NEVER pull on the electrode wire. This could damage or destroy the electrode. CAUTION: Care should be taken to insure that electrodes stay behind the earlobes and not slip downward on the neck. They should also not be applied to broken or scarred skin. Ear-clips
4. To operate the unit, turn the amplitude now to the right until the unit clicks, and the red light comes on. Slowly turn the know to the right until you feel a slight tingling sensation. If comfortable, leave the setting at that point for the duration of the treatment. If you prefer no sensation, turn the knob to the left, leaving it just below the point at which you first experienced the tingle. As long as the unit is on whether you feel it or not, you are still receiving the benefits. If you prefer more sensation, turn the know to the right. Increasing the amplitude has no know contraindications. The most important factor in determining the setting is your own personal comfort. One side may feel "stronger" than the other. This does not mean that your unit isn't working properly and should not be cause for concern. Often the side which feels the greater sensation is the side of the body under greater stress. A simple turn of the head to the left and then to the right often result in the current switching positions. Dip-switch Addendum Your unit is currently set at 100Hz, the frequency of choice. It should remain set there at all times. There is a dip-switch in the battery compartment, allowing you to access an alternate frequency of 0.35Hz. This is primarily a research frequency and should be set only by our licensed health practitioner. The effect of the alternate frequency is very different than the 100Hz. It is suggested that you not intermix the two frequencies. Use one frequency for an extended period of time (one or two weeks); determine which you prefer most and then stay with it. If you have any questions, discuss them with your health care provider. As with the 100Hz, the 0.35Hz configuration can be used with either the ear-clips or the electrodes. See the instructions above. Again, turn the amplitude knob to the right until the unit click on. Slowly turn the know to the right until you feel a slight tingling sensation. Unlike the 100Hz, however, the 0.35Hz results in only a very faint tingle, if any. Its effect is quit different but in some ways, more dramatic. It often results in light-headedness or what some have characterized as a "cup of wine sensation." Advancing the control too fast may result in a slight feeling of dizziness; in which case you should reduce the amplitude, turning the knob to the let. If you prefer a greater sensation, increase the amplitude, turning the knob further to the right. You can increase the amplitude with no know negative effects. find the position that feels best to you.
