Additional Information:
Sirius includes programs created by Dr. Hans Bittner,
based upon his research at the University of Essen. Proteus
includes updated versions of those, plus many of the highly acclaimed
programs from the MindLab series of machines.
All Proteus programs are stored in "flash"
memory, you can replace any or all of them--a total of
2,000 segments.

- You can set your own light/sound pulse rate in real
time.
- Control two different colors simultaneously, each
with its own brightness. Over 250 combinations produce a startling
array of visuals and the broadest range of mood shifts of any
light/sound technology on the market. Patent pending.
- Proteus includes a serial connect cable with a DB9
connector so you can use any Windows 98+ PC to create, edit, form
libraries and download them into Proteus. The always-free software
upgrades will regularly add new features. You can also download the free
software users guide.
- Binaural beats are produced by playing two sine waves
at slightly different frequencies in stereo headphones--an additional
entrainment feature.
- AudioStrobe® is a technique that embeds
light control signals on compact discs. Proteus is the only machine
with fully active control circuitry--for crisper, perfectly synchronized
lights and audio programs.
- ColorPulsetm converts the beat of music
into pulsing light patterns, while MicroPulse does the same thing with
the built-in Sirius microphone. Pulse to the rhythm of a conversation -
or the music on the radio.
- BioConnecttm allows such parameters as
pulse rate, color brightness, binaural beat frequency, etc. to be
controlled via biofeedback (such as ThoughtStream). A powerful way to
experience light and sound!

#The Proteus and Sirius have a 4 digit display that
gives you information about your session - frequency, mode, and program
depending upon what display mode you are in.
# Square and sine wave purity is a measurement of how
closely the machine's wave generator comes to creating a perfect square or
sine wave - as a percentage of a true square or sine wave. The higher the
percentage, the cleaner and purer the waves. Square waves equate to how
explosive and sharp the lights appear. Perception of distinct lines,
waves, and colors are affected by the purity of the square waves generated
by the machine. The tone of the sound is affected by the purity of the
sine waves generated by the machine.
# Sharp frequency changes is demonstrated by sudden
changes from one frequency to another several hertz apart. The
Mind's Eye actually utilize this capacity. Mind's Eye has several
programs in which the frequency changes from low frequency (1-3 hz) to a
higher frequency (8-13 hz) in 1 milisecond (that's 1 thousandth of a
second). The Proteus makes the same frequency change in about 3 seconds.
In real experience that equates to the difference between an interesting
display and an explosive display.
#Soft changes refers to the ability of the machine to
slowly ramp up to frequencies rather than suddenly displaying them. To the
wearer, this would appear as a soft fade in/out.
#Rechargeable batteries only come with Mind's Eye. All
other models use AA batteries.
#An AC Adapter comes with the Mind's Eye only.
Sirius has an option AC adapter. The Proteus uses only AA batteries
and is not capable of using an AC adapter.
