Crystal Dictionary Terms and Meanings Arkimer Diamond (A diamond shaped formation. Similar to the Herkimer Diamond.) Use: atonement on all levels; relaxation; meditation; communication; environment; enhance and balance the properties of other minerals. Barnacle (also referred to as Pixie Dust and Fairy Dust. A large crystal covered with many smaller crystals.) Use: providing insight; meditation; stimulate group energy. The largest crystal is considered the "Old Soul" and contains wisdom to be passed on to others. Bent (curved crystal): Use: decision making; assists in seeing the inner most working of a problem or situation; allows for access of the inner physical, emotional and mental bodies. Castles (self-healed crystals. Large termination's on the base or side of a crystal.) The crystal broke from its matrix or another crystal and continued to grow and heal the rough base or side. Because of their own self-healing knowledge are excellent in aiding others. Chard (sheet quartz - A layer of quartz which was removed from it's Mother.) These are sometimes self-healed on the bottom or sides. Use: meditation; opening the third eye; communicating with other planes. Cluster (a group of crystals connected by a single base): Use: group situations, such as 3 people in a family (a 3 pointed cluster or 10 persons in a work place a 10 pointed cluster). A cluster will work to bring peace and harmony in these and all groups. Cross (shape of a cross represented by two points): Use: to remove negativity; increase spiritual awareness. Double Terminated (having points at both ends): The D.T.s allow energy to move in both directions. Use: astral projection; meditation and protection. Etched (elestial, enchanted crystals have a natural etching over them): Use: change from one state of being to another; to find love within; accept and allow newness. Used in Medicine Wheels for the spiritual self and to reach the ancients. Faden (a crystal containing white thread line lines running across the center of a crystal): Use: Aids in opening doorways on all levels; connecting with others on all planes both physical and spiritual; obtaining information; telepathic communication and attracting one's soul mate. Generator (has 6 faces joining together in perfect union): It is the center crystal. Use: all forms of healing; very powerful crystal in metaphysical work. Golden Healer (a crystal with a natural transparent golden color, either totally or in part). Use: in any and all healing situations; contacting the spirit world. Grounding (8 edges surrounding the face): Use: Aides in keeping one in-tuned with reality and on a practical level. Husband & Wife (Marriage, pair or soul-mates - two crystals that grew together but can be removed from one another): The "female" has an indented area while the male has a projected area at the point of union. They "fit together" and the two work in harmony. May include another mineral or foreign object entrapped in a crystal. The extra entrapped object will lend it's aide to the Female/Mother Crystal. Use: in bonding with your other half on all levels. Isis (channeling crystal, perfect 7 sided face, all corner lines at equal distance, perfect triangle on top reverse face): Use: creativity; expression; perfection; wisdom; truth and knowledge in all areas and activities; meditation; channeling; healing the total self. Japan Law Twin (2 points intersecting each other in perfect lines forming a 90 degree angle): Use: healing and uplifting the mind, body and soul, perfect for use in psychoneuroimmunology. Key (looks like a downward spiral in a crystal, becomes narrower as it enters): Use: to unlock doors of all matters; gives answers to all questions and unknown situations. Laser Wand (a wands face is thicker at the bottom becoming slender toward the top). Used world wide and are placed here to help with inner and outer space; healing; love; protection to clear negativity and to direct energy. Manifestation (a smaller point or cluster totally enclosed within a larger crystal): Use: inner knowledge; channeling; visualization. Penetrater (Pinnacle. A point entering into another crystal): Use: atonement and alignment; assists in obtaining a goal. Phantom (white, blue, black and silver are some of the colors of "The Phantom"): May be perfect pyramids, chevrons, or a colored mass within the crystal. Use: universal awareness and healing; past life regression. Rainbow (spirit keeper, fractures within a crystal sometimes cause a rainbow inside with all the colors of the spectrum): Use: healing and love of life in all it's beauty; appreciation; gratitude; opening third eye; respect for nature and all living things. Record Keeper (one or more triangles on at least one face of a crystal): The place where wisdom is stored. Where all the ancient information of time and the universe are kept. Use: to enlighten and in meditation. Sceptre (a crystal sitting upon a rod like base): Used by the high priest/priestess in ceremonies to direct energy. Self-Healer (small tiny growth on the bottom of a crystal): Use: healing others; teaching them to learn to heal themselves. Shovel (the face of a crystals resembles a shovel): Use: in finding a solution to a problem. Tabby (a flat crystal): Use: retaining information, to "open" the crystal run your fingernail downward, top to bottom. Read study or listen to the information you need, when finished run your finger nail bottom to top to close or seal in the information. To open and access the crystals repeat the top to bottom release. Also used to activate other crystals. Time-Link (Right - a small rectangular flat space to the Right of the face of a crystal): Use: Activates the Right side of the brain. Twin (2 crystals growing together in a parallel position): Uses: building relationships, helping to move the energy of two in the same direction. Window (a diamond shape on the face of a crystal) Use: to look and receive information from within one's self; helps in putting one in a perfect state; locating object or people.
